Socratic Deck

Spaced repetition that asks instead of tells. Cards refuse to show the answer until you have written a wrong one.
Retention went up 40% in a small classroom trial. Frustration went up considerably more.
The design bet is that the cost of retrieval is the thing that makes a memory stick, and that a card which shows its answer on request has quietly removed that cost.
It is not a pleasant tool and I would not recommend it to someone who is not already convinced. That is probably why it stayed in beta.
